I finally realize why it's so hard for me to adapt to using the Coles.

It's that blasted forward Square being a grind. With Drake, forward Square is by far his most useful Square move, but here it's way different and not an attack until you do the square combo. It just throws me off whenever I'm next to an enemy and I want to hit them.

I wish you could disable moves >_>

I agree. The grind I find is utterly useless, and it really throws me off that it isn't an attack.

Grind can end with the square combo, the triangle shoulder bash or pressing circle will cause him to cancel it early.

It's actually pretty good for moving around quickly to escape situations. I don't play as either Cole too much, but I've heard that the grind comes in handy for certain combos, too.

It may not be useless but it's pretty unique and hard to adapt to.
