Tips for a new Spike player?

#1InninXIPosted 2/1/2013 12:26:00 PM
I recent had the chance to play with an amazing spike in 2v2. I've never seen someone gain AP so fast o_O. I wanted to use a new main this season and want to try out spike. Played with him for about an hour but i'm just not getting the hang of it. His play style is so different from Fat Princess Any tips?

I'm not the best Spike, but definitely camp near your bananas (air dC green).

Use lots of Monkey Radar and Bananarang to make things difficult for your opponents, then use your charge moves to fish for unblockables.

up+square is hard to punish

use air down triangle for lvl1. or charged forward circle.

Is there a use for that RC car? I get sometimes lucky and can get a L1 off of it but its so slow and clunky

Rc car - use it as a super press it fast or use it as a combo.

When you knock someone down, drop the car. If they roll getting up, chase them with the car and blast them, then you get a free combo / level 1.

Note that if they decide to get up and punch you in the face instead you're probably trading at best, so be careful with it.

The grounded version of down+circle (green) only drops one banana but the hit stun is greater on hit than the air version. You can even hit confirm a level 1 or 2 off of it but the timing is still strict. Also if you use air down+square close (like really really close) to the ground it will come out almost immediately making the move much mor safe.
