If there wasn't a Vita version, would this have done better?

Just curious - not gonna write a full diatribe here, but I've always felt like the fact that it was simultaneously developed for PS3 and Vita hobbled it. The PS3 is a powerful system, but this doesn't really look like a PS3 game. Some of the character models, like Nariko's or Nate's, are clearly flawed when you compare them to their original games.... I wonder if that's because they had to make it work on the Vita?

And I know a second studio developed the Vita version, but that's a lot of added cost. What if that second studio had been working on making the core game more robust/fleshed out? More characters/levels/modes..... would've gone a lot further than "hey, if you buy this game and you happen to have a Vita, now you can play it on your Vita!"

Seriously, I'd love to see numbers on how much it cost to develop the Vita version, and how much money they made from the Vita version. I can't imagine it was anywhere near worth it.

Probably
I thought it was weird for there to have been a Vita version

The Vita version wasn't developed by Superbot so it likely had no impact. Well, apart from the sales it generated, which clearly helped.

XD, that's just weird. I wish I could post in that thread, to the kid who said "there's no such thing as a handheld appropriate game" I'd bring up Pokemon. Although, I do agree with him that Dissidia would've been amazing if it had been on the PS3. : >

But at what cost? =( Another studio had to work on that, and it all becomes part of the entire cost of making this game.

I also wonder if they had to look at specs for character models/environments and say "okay, we can't really do Nathan Drake like he usually looks because the Vita can't handle that, so we'll give you this version of Nate that should be fine on the Vita."

I mean it's odd. Nariko and Drake are the ones that stand out, but even Jak... he looks better in the PS2 games than he does in this. XD Isn't that kind of bizarre?
