The only thing you were wrong about was you saying Smash is simple and PSASBR is too complex. Trust me, it's extremely complex at the competitive level. More than PSASBR.
If complexity was an issue than Smash surely would have failed as well.

Let me guess. You always play Smash with items off and only play on Final Destination.
You display your ignorance here because Final Destination is far from the only tourny stage and it's not even the most popular one. I don't know where this FD joke started because it couldn't be further from the truth and yet every casual player that doesn't know comp. Smash assumes it's true. It's not even funny as it has no basis in fact.
No one said you have to know what you're doing to have fun in Smash, I agree with the OP there. You can argue Smash is a lot more funner than PSASBR even if you don't know what you are doing.
But the point is, he's suggesting casuals could pick up the game and easily compete with good players (key word: good). Which isn't true in either game.
Smash is only easy to pick up and play at the casual level.
