PSAS could use a "re-launch"

I think we can all somewhat agree that this game was largely mis-handled. Whether you blame Superbot, Sony, Sony's Marketing, the point remains the same: This game deserved better.

What I think should happen, is that Superbot/Sony Santa Monica should try their best to release as many DLC characters and stages this year, and for Q4, release a "complete" or "GOTY" edition of PSAS, for PS3.

This not only give them an opportunity to have a second chance at the marketing, but if this re-release contains the characters fans actually wanted, that gives it more sales potential. I'm thinking 26-30 characters, and a few new stages. Minions can stay as DLC since they're "superficial", and don't add to the gameplay much at all. Same deal with the costumes.

If Sony takes the right steps, they could give this game the respect and sales it deserves, and better set the foundation for the PS4 sequel.

Only if people who already bought the game (especially those who got it for $60) got it for a reduced price.

They should make the game free to play, and try to monetize it through DLC.

The main problem is they tried to sell this game based on star power, and it doesn't have any. They should've tried to sell the game on its unique take on the brawler genre, and how it's a fun, accessible game that works well in FFA and 2 v 2.

That's a game I'd buy even if it was an entirely brand new IP.

They alienated and infuriated so many fans by making this game all about the roster. Calling it PSAS, hyping up character reveals... for what? They didn't have anything exciting.

So make it free to play and get people sold on the gameplay, because the game's damn fun and everybody who spends a few matches with the game absolutely loves it. Then they can start releasing DLC characters and charging for them, and all those people who downloaded the game free and fell in love with it will want to get them for their unique playstyles.

If I haven't mentioned Trivio in my post, it's because she is so beautiful and precarious that I just wanted to show her how much she means to me.

It has literally all of the biggest stars Sony owns.

Well, yes, from a first-party point of view, PSAS isn't a failure.

That said... would it have killed them to include a Sony RPG rep? I know there aren;t many, but a LoD and DC character would have worked wonderfully.

What they need to do is pretty simple:

PS3/ PSV price cuts will come with new bundles.

Make PSBR one of those bundles.

Problem solved.

arent many?

That is not the problem (Sony owns like 7 JRPG IP's). THe problem is that none of them have the mainstream appeal of something like Final Fantasy which is why the devs probably didnt bother.

Yeah, for some reason I've noticed Chzrm saying lots of nonsensical things since his return.
