Does anyone know how to down-tech?

Everytime I play as Sir Daniel online a majority of the time my opponents stay in the air and get owned by his (admittedly rather funky) level 1. Besides a few level 999's he might as well have a hit-confirm. Does anyone else get this?

It's been known since the first week the game released and is very common knowledge.

But this game probably gets new players all the time that might not know about that as not everyone frequents forums and looks up guides.

However, there's still no excuse to not know it eventually because it's in the tutorial.

Most FFA players are really, really bad and the mode in general is terrible if you want high level competition and actual competitive play.

Unfortunately my internet has been too janky lately for me to play online at all. But I'll be back the week after next, it should be fixed by then. There's some construction in my area right now.

I look forward to playing you then.

Just hold the analog stick down/ press the down button on the D-pad. Instead of recovering upwards, you will recover downwards aka "down tech". Then continue to hold it (duck) so you don't get hit in the head with the super.

This is explained in the combat tutorial.

you could also just "down-tech" and roll, that's generally more reliable anyway. But he wasn't asking for tips..
