I refuse to accept that Dante being able to trap characters in a combo using the same three moves over and over again for insane amounts of time while they are helpless to do absolutely anything in a 1V1 setting (which is what all the pro players talk about in regards to balancing anyways) and nabbing a free kill/greater part of a super level is fun or fair.

Dude. so what if it takes a long time? Its not like theres 3 people fighting in a 1v1. It actually gives you time to think what to do next. Dante's jab is high risk high reward. Completely removing the loop would make it high risk medium-low reward. Stop complaining and learn how to jump, roll less and block.

But my point is why should I have to? Can't he do something else? Fighting every Dante is absolutely the same: bait out an EC whiff and attempt to punish. Miss the punish or fail to block, and you get trapped in a ten-second long combo until he decides to confirm into level 1 or the eventual burst comes along.

Is that fun? Not really.
Is that what Dante's diverse and free-flowing moveset should boil down to? Nope.
Wouldn't it be better to remove the empty cancel and make his other moves worth using? Yes.

Try using Dante yourself. His EC is pretty damn essential for him to be considered A tiered, but the draw back? He's not Kratos, so he actually very open if you block or dodge his swipes. Unless the Dante users EC to evade (which isn't easy), you can get punished by almost any character in the game.

Also, EC spamming in a FFA or even 2v2 is asking for it.

Dude. You do know Dante is not high tier right? Ask any top player and they will say Dante is trash tier without EC. The thing that needs to go is ToD and lvl 1 KC. Stop complaining. The only reason hes near high tier is because of EC. He has bad MUs on over half the cast.
