Can't we give Treyarch some credit?

Yes yes, I know, lag blah blah blah. In my memory at least Blops was at least as bad for the first 6 or so weeks. How about commending them on the fact that people have yet failed to identify a single 'OMG wtf OP' class? The fact that about 75% of the guns have a quality that makes them useable, depending on an individual's preference. The fact that pick 10 is a great idea. The fact that score streaks is a successful change. The fact that you can change your loadout in SP. the fact that SP has some choices as to the route you take. The fact they've incorporated league play. The fact that prestiging is much more attractive (or at least less detrimental) than the recent cods. The fact that sniping is now about halfway between Blops and MW2/3.

People gurn about SMGs being overpowered.... To an extent yes. That's only due to the maps. Can't we just have a wee bit of faith in Treyarch, and their ability to listen, to hope that the DLC maps will change it up.

I know it's easier to rage and whine than praise, but I think they've done a good job. And I think they'll refine it as the months go on.

You forgot zombies ... once I got over my initial shock at "how dare they change the formula" and just made myself play it all weekend, turns out I LOVE the new mode!

Treyarch succeeds where IW fails in that they really try new things with each game - they may not always be for the best, but at least they are trying!

I give them tons of cred. This is the best CoD I've ever played. It's got a ton of options, modes, customization, etc.

It's got issues, like lag but it's not even on close to how bad things were last year with MW3. I honestly can't fathom how so many people completely forgot how bad it was. CoD gamers have short memories.

1) League play is pointless when there's skill based matchmaking in the all MP playlists...
2) The game is so laggy most of the time that it's hard to enjoy a lot of the good features of MP

*raises glass*

and don't forget to add to the fact that the zombie mode is as fun as ever while still managing to go in new directions

3 cheers for 3arch!

Nope - I played both FALLOUT games for close to 3 solid months which meant multiple freezes nightly - it doesn't kill your PS3 - your PS3 freezes as a failsafe when it encounters a problem... annoying? yes... but not damaging.

Support and Specialist Packages were new, doing additional things that contributed to your killstreak was new. Survival was new (to IW). There are a lot more, most of which came later in the game's lifecycle, but were still new. Therefore, by your logic, IW is trying as well.

@One_Too_Many

You keep talking about CoD gamers and their supposed "short memory". But experiences vary and opinions are subjective; maybe for some, not you, the lag is worse than it was in MW3. Maybe, for some, this isn't a game with ample customization and options. Food for thought.

SURVIVAL is zombies with mercs instead of walking dead. That's not innovation, its plagiarism.
