Is there anything particularly bad about buying a cheapo mic?

Specifically a bluetooth one (PS3)? I want to voice chat but don't care about aural fidelity or whatever. It's just a mic, no sound output.

And why is everyone with good mics so quiet on blops? I can't even hear them properly, just a couple words.

Bluetooth mics always give off either an echo or a hiss and sometimes even ear-shattering static and the like.

Notoriously crappy mics.

I'm not saying mine's the greatest Mic but everyone can hear me just fine and I don't echo. I also use it for my iPod. The USB part acts as an amplifier when I plug it into a source(AKA computer or PS3) I just wish it worked without having to be plugged in.

I prefer an adjustable Mic, a fixed static Mic can make you quiet depending how far away it is from your yapper.

For the love of god, please get a mic that doesn't echo hearing the game sounds twice coming from my tv then I have to hear it again coming from yours sucks. This is literally the best mic for the price no echo can soundwhore if you like, and it's an awesome mic.

I'd like to know what kind of a person goes through 5 pairs of turtle beaches in 3 years? You sound careless and anyway I think most normal people would try a different brand after their first or second disappointing purchase.

TC, a cheap mic does the job but a cheap headset is much better. X12's are like $50. It's a night and day change in your sound quality experience. I then spent $250 on what I got now, but I'll say that first $50 set brought the most value to upgrading my gaming experience.

Sorry brah, voice chat isn't worth more than $20 NZ to me. I can get a Bluetooth mic for $15, so I thought I might as well.

You may not notice anything if you get a cheapo Mic but you will probably end up muted by a lot of people due to it sounding like you are playing in a wind tunnel + the echo

Quality over quanity applies here even though you're only buying one mic.
