there was absolutely no point to the bots in Black Ops though, you still had to be connected online to create a lobby with bots IIRC

^ I'm with this guy. Really bothered me that I couldn't play vs AI when my cable was out --- This is the Internet, you have the right to spout any idiot nonsense and insults you want. Thankfully, I have the ability to block these idiots.

I can confirm bots are selectable in the "Local" multiplayer mode.
They also ARE more human-like. They don't have a fixed tracking headshot on you from the second they spot you now. They use equipment a LOT more now too.
