Honestly and truthfully this game is confirmed garbage until/unless they patch it.
ADD, no. Where is the thread for Fallout OCD players?

Cannot be countered completely is more accurate.

And Dead Silence does more than just silence footsteps--it gets rid of all player noise like call-outs.

So Dead Silence still helps a lot against Awareness, it just doesn't 100% neuter it.

10 bucks says the TC plays SnD too much. Sorry you play a mode where any Perk relating to sound becomes a hundred times more important than it does in TDM.
The supernatural says that if you act a certain way you might avoid suffering. But reality says you came from the stars...

Sorry, but that's just how it is. If you deviate from the "norm" (TDM) then balance can get out of whack. We all know that gun balance goes out the window in Hardcore (pick favorite 40-30 automatic assault rifle, equip silencer. Done.) so it's no surprise that Perk balance can get weird in a SnD.

Normally sound is helpful but it doesn't decide games. In SnD however...using sound to kill one guy is 1/6th of the enemy team gone for good. And it's hard to balance sound for both TDM and SnD.

Even if Awareness didn't exist, there's still the problem of "every player in SnD has Dead Silence."

I think SnD players kinda need to get over it and understand that CoD isn't exclusively catered to them.

Thus all the more reason for Ground War to be included. Bigger teams help to divert people that soundwhore from being able to focus entirely on one area. Doesn't eliminate it, but it does draw it down some. Also emergency need of the Jammer, but let's not beat a dead horse.

Can I just get something straight here.

Guy A has Dead Silence.
Guy B has Awareness.
Guy A can here hear guy B and guy B can hear guy A.

How is this unbalanced?

IMO soundwhoring is going to take on a different vibe. The gun sounds, especially the sniper rifles, are loud as hell. I'm sure a suppressor will help that some, but most people don't roll with one. So that dude camping in some crates taking potshots at you and your team, well you're going to know exactly where he is because of his rifle sound.

Yeah, lets just ignore the entire concept of Perks supposedly giving you a definite advantage.
