Disagree. The game mechanics of CS have a ton more depth that broadens the skill gap.

Not really, it's just point and click like every other FPS.

Any game could be like any other game if you break it down that far.

But that's really all there is to it. Just because it takes about .3 seconds longer to kill someone in CS doesn't make it some Golden Fleece of gaming. It was good when it came out, people need to stop pretending the dated game still holds up to FPS today.

Takes longer to kill someone in CS? You obviously have had your hand held far to long with aim assist in cod.

I have Global Offensive and IMO its so easy. Just buy a deagle two rounds, get like a kill each round, buy auto sniper or AWP and you destroy.

I think SnD is much more difficult because people use the weapons they're comfortable with. I'm not picking someone off who is using a bad gun because its all they could afford.

Except that you get like what, 25 per kill with the AWP now and not much more for the auto sniper? So if you die you're in trouble. Not to mention your strategy there hinges on getting a kill each round with a deagle. This sort of implies the people you are playing are less skilled than your team.

Generally speaking I would say CS has a higher skill ceiling since headshots actually do significantly more damage. It's like, what, 140% in this game? It's not a lot. I forget if it's 250% or 400% in CS:GO, but it's actually worth going for there. In CoD you are better off spraying at the legs/stomach/chest area.

And let's keep in mind as well that some people don't always use what they are comfortable with in SnD. Plenty of people run with only knives and only pistols and whatever other sub-optimal loadouts they feel like.

Anyone can gimp themselves in a game to make it more challenging.

And I don't even need to get a kill each round. After two rounds I can be AFK and probably still have enough for AWP or auto sniper. It's too noob friendly, it's like hey here you go here's money to buy a broken weapon.

Compared to....what? Another game consisting entirely of pointing and shooting?

Just because you bought a AWP or a auto sniper doesn't make you good. If your playing against anyone decent, smokes and flash spots are already well known. Also your team should be down 2 games from players being afk so they should have their own awp...

Yeah I always finish top 3 with my strategy, so if I'm not good and I can do that, what does that say about CS?

It says that you know how to work the system.
You may not necessarily be good at the game, but you use the system to your advantage, and do well because of it.

It means your playing against people who obviously don't know how to play around the Awp or use smokes/flashes correctly. As someone already said, CS difficultly lies on how good your opponents are. Unlike COD where bad players are given help to win against stronger players.

Wow everyone on CS must be a scrub then because usually the only time I do bad is if I can't get a kill on the save rounds and just die. Either way I make up for it when I got the AWP or SCAR/G3. Again this whole myth of CS skill really has to go.
