Previous CODs I have had standard broadband around 6 up 1 down. I upgraded to fiber a couple of weeks ago. 40 up 10 down I am pinging 25 ms to London (250 mile away) and my game has really improved. So what's all this whining saying slower broadband is better for this game?
What exactly is lag compensation? It sounds like it should be something good, you know like compensating for lag. Anyway there's so many excuses surrounding CoD, I hardly take notice of 'em since the game works fine for me. Hell I was playing on 1-2 bars a lot of last night and still did alright.
Lag comp screws everyone...humans have a tendency to only remember the negative. Even those with good broadband have lag comp help them out a lot, but it feels better to think "Wow I'm good, just beasted that guy" rather than believe the thing you hate helped you out. You just have to learn to live with it if you play this game. One thing that would help alleviate a lot of the problem is if they fixed foot steps; then you would have a good idea of when a person is rounding a corner, rather than it being based purely on sight (which lies because of said lag comp).
At least a 2.5 for every CoD game so far. I'm struggling to keep 1.1 here. Yup, I'm just looking for an excuse because I've always been bad and need a reason. --- Quoting the Topic Creator's original post is stupid and redundant. I'm here for intelligent arguments or flaming. It's your job to decipher which.
