The only thing that exposed the bad netcode in MW2 was Commando. Now with everyone running Lightweight SMGs, the problem is everywhere.

every call of duty game has issues when it comes out. MW2 is no different. people always praise past CoD titles after they have been patched a few times. BO2 will get patched just the same and will play a lot better. you would think people would catch on to this pattern since it happens every year.

The fact that AR killed with one burst made it much better. The way it works now, they are worthless. By the time you try to let off your second and third burst, the guy with the smg already putut half a magazine in you. SMGs pwn everything now.

Without stopping power, burst weapons are underpowered severely. Case in point, the M16 in BO and MW3, both required the entire burst to hit, if you didn't have a good connection, you were screwed thanks to the high amount of automatics. Many claimed the type-95 was overpowered, it needed to be a 2hko in order to compete. Burst weapons only have an advantage when the first burst kills, otherwise prepare to be sprayed down. The games that had stopping power did burst weapons right, in order to the type-95 power level, you had to choose stopping power, which is a proper trade off imo.

SMGs aren't the problem, it's the other weapon types can't compete due to small maps. If there was proper map balance, a mix of MW1 and MW2 maps, we wouldn't have this problem.

Kids will camp no matter what, so long as killstreaks exist as rewards for getting kills. Just about every FPS had camping.

EDIT: ...ever FPS before MW2* had significant camping, and so long as camping remains a safer way to get kills, it always will exist.


However, no other CoD rewarded you as much for camping, while giving you the tools to do it effectively. The fact that you could sit in a corner just waiting for your killstreak to rack up the kills for your next streak was wrong (esp as people under the level 29 don't have much that they can do against it other than avoiding it, since the AT4 was hardcoded to be crap against the Harriers).

While MW2 might not have the most campers, it does have the most successful ones that I've seen.

Xbox buttons in clan tags
Care package glitch
Unlimited toobs in hacked matches
Super knife lunge
Too much crap going on in the sky
Scavenger re-supplied too much too often
Shotguns as secondaries
BTW this all took FOREVER to fix if it got fixed at all

To some people, that over powered hot mess of a game was fun, which is a shame, since it was basically a parody, a spoof of COD4

Commando, Stopping power, secondary shotguns, Quickscoping (annoying, not overpowered), deathstreaks. There was plenty wrong with MW2.


There's literally nothing wrong with ANY of those things you just mentioned, except for quickscoping...
