Does the Supressor attachment do anything functional in the campaign?

I'm going to guess it doesn't, but I really love using it on all of my guns.

It could be argued that you're a bit more accurate since it removes muzzle flash. Besides that, not really.

It makes your guns look cool.

As for campaigns, when you are in combat it never matters, but if you are doing stealthy infiltrator stuff, it is more less required to prevent setting off an entire base or something.
