Think about it, if Vonderhaar would tweet: "Yes, there is a bad lag comp in the game."
People who buy it on Christmas: "OMG noooo not buying it until it's fixed"
-> people get another game, like Halo 4 or Far Cry 3
-> probably ~40% forget to buy BO2, or keep playing Halo 4/Far Cry 3
-> Less money for Treyarch

Also:

People who are looking for exploits: "OMG if I use bad Internet to play this game I'm going to be a killing machine!'
= more people use bad internet
-> causing more rage than now

If they stealthly fix it:

-> People don't know if using bad internet helps, so less people use bad internet to get advantage
-> Christmas people buy it

So it's the best option for them.

Reason 1: One dollar
Reason 2: Another dollar
Reason 3: Another dollar

Repeat till you reach a billion dollars. Here's why they wont fix it:

People will buy it anyways. They could literally take a turd inside of a video game case, slap on "Call of Duty: Modern Ops at War: Electric Boogaloo" as the title and they'd make money. Why fix it, which will use up manpower and thus cost them money, if people are going to throw a couple million your way anyways?
This spot for rent.

People who buy it at christmas don't know/don't care about the lag comp. They're called christmas noobs for a reason.

Nobody buys Farcry for its multi because it's unplayable.

It's singleplayer is fantastic though.

Lol'd at the title having Electric Boogaloo in it. I always tag that onto everything when there is a sequel in works. All about that Star Trek 2: Electric Boogaloo.
I love circles cuz they're round and stuff!
