I thought read you can unlock everything instead of having to pick and choose with tokens when you hit the top. Was that just BS?

I did it at 7th prestige in MW2 because I wanted all the title bars and the rotating skull emblem. I don't understand doing it in any other COD. Maybe black ops if you were too impatient to get gold guns? The things I wanted in MW2 were virtually unattainable altogether though and the coin was straight up hack only.
