So I went back and played all the modern cods yesterday, and I was very suprised

80/80

Like the title suggests, I played all of the cods and here is my experiences with each.

COD 2 - Played some of the campaign, on veteran this game is still one of the hardest i've played.

COD 4 - Huge blast of nostalgia, but once that went away, I realized how little weapon variety there was with what people used. M16, MP5, AK 47, and M40A3 were pretty much all i ran into. Still a fun experience though.

WAW - Took one game, got my stats reset, stopped playing.

MW2 - The game felt like organized madness. explosives everywhere! But other than that the game was still very fun. I found that this game was the easiest to play when laggy. My shots still registered, and I felt in control.

Black ops - Couldn't complain about many things, but the game just couldn't hold my attention.

MW3 - Specialist is an absolute blast. It was nice to see that people were using a variety of weapons, and I find I appreciate this game a little bit more, as opposed to when I played it earlier. Still not a fan of the constant support emp's and stealth bombers.

Black ops 2 - So much potential, but held back by a couple of things. I just find this game to inconsistent. Like many said, I can be absolutely beasting one minute, then completely struggling the next. Still had a good time playing it.

Playing all the older games in one sitting (class was cancelled haha), i found that I now have a greater appreciation for black ops 2. I think that it has the potential to be the best cod, if treyarch gets their act together and patches all of the problems.

tl;dr every cod has its flaws, but its not too late for black ops 2 to fix theres.

i've recently done this as well. my thoughts are that the matchmaking has gotten steadily worse since mw2. while many many things are annoying with that game(oma, noob tubes, awful maps, ultra knife lunges) the matches are buttery smooth as far as connectivity. It amazes me that a game a with huge base can have so many issues with p2p matchmaking. I can handle all the little annoyances with these last few cod games, but the crummy matchmaking is my main gripe.

Yep, the connection has deteriorated with each successive iteration of the franchise since MW2. MW2 had a truly fantastic connection. Even with 3 bars, if a gun is supposed to kill in 4 bullets, it will kill in 4 bullets. It just feels like every single shot that is on target registers no matter what. It's an amazing feeling when you go back and play that game after being exposed to Black Ops 2 for a few months.

^ It's a shame how hacked that game has become.

^ Couldn't agree more. I LOVED SPECIALIST!

MW4 needs to get rid of deathstreaks and support. Whether or not they use "pick 10", I hope that Specialist finds a way to return. MOABS would be fun to go after again too.

Finally, nice job with writing your OP... :)

agreed except the maps. Out of all the Cod's I thought MW2 maps were the best. At least on SnD they were the best since thats really the only thing I have ever played since COD4

I miss the days of MW2 SnD. I really do. I still have fond memories of that game mode...trying to listen for footsteps over my tube TV, the cat and mouse games of 1v1s, pulling off a 1v5 with a Riot Shield/OMA set up on Terminal, trying to sneak around Derail while still being fast enough to do what I needed to do. *sniff*
