How would you feel if the next COD had Americans as the antagonist?

The Japanese tried to contact America to talk peace before we bombed them, but we ignored them so we could show off America's power. So technically we were the bad guys.

Really? I didn't know that. Oh wait, didn't the Japanese have some kind of rediculous demands or something like that?

False.

After we bombed them the first time they didn't believe we had another bomb, never the less an even bigger one. They thought we had blew our load. It's Japans fault for not surrendering after we dropped the first bomb on them. They thought America was playing poker.

The same people who complain about "political correctness" would be rushing to get the game banned for being offensive and anti-american. Or at the very least insensitive due to the recent school shootings, because those are way more significant than anything like American drone attacks on civilians.

I feel it would be a pleasant change from the FPS trend of "da ruskies are da bad guyz"

This, but I doubt they'd ever make the Americans the antagonists.

People in America would be butthurt because we are propagandized that we are the grand saints of the world and would never do anything evil. People would complain for the sake of complaining. Just to hear the sound of their own voice.

We decimated Hiroshima, and people still think we are the good guys. I think we are a-holes for that, but others may disagree. Some actions by the U.S. shocks me on how people just brush it off, but if its any other country we go apes*** about how they are evil and should be punished. Just my $0.02

Firebombing Tokyo was fairly devastating and painful when compared to dropping 2 nukes. It was that or have many US soldiers die and many Japanese civilians and soldiers die. Japanese people were quite keen on Bushido and would not surrender which they thankfully did after Nagasaki. (atomic death toll is at 246k max, firebombing of just one was over 100k w/ millions injured)

Whether it was right or wrong it ended the war and spared the rest of Japan and US soldiers. We are not good nor are we evil. Amoral would be a far better descriptor. I think we involve ourselves with other countries too much sometimes. Trade and commercialism is fine, but foreign aid and starting wars should be sparse and only used when necessary.

Also, fun fact WMD is a general term that is not limited to nuclear devices.

Just an aside to all of this.

Fun Fact: Because the military thought they were going to have to invade Japan, they had a ton of Purple Hearts minted so that they could be awarded to dead and injured soldiers, which was estimated to be over 500,000+. Since it never happened, those Purple Hearts were kept and have been used to award all injured/killed soldiers since the Korean War in 1950 til now in 2013, and will continue to for many more years.

Fact? If so, thanks for some intelligible information amidst the sea of misinformed BS.
