Am I the only person who does better when I'm host?

I feel like it's just me, seeing all the topics about how being host is a death sentence around here. I do much worse when I have even a three bar connection. Lag is killer for me. On top of that, I rarely have a poor connection. I play on PS3, but I wouldn't think there would be a difference in connection issues.

Host with all 4 bar connections: Great
Host with more than 1 non 4 bar: Death sentence
