There are areas where SMGs can thrives, but many of the areas are similar to that of what we saw in MW2, with areas being a bit more wide open, with longer sightlines for ARs and longer range weapons to thrive. Pretty much, the maps are based around the strengths of the Peacekeeper, which is to say that mid range engagements are more common than CQC.

Grind > Hydro > Mirage > Downhill

I liked Downhill the most when the DLC first dropped, but now... It's my least favorite. Snow maps stay the say in every COD game (besides Summit)... Very campy

I don't get why they had to ruin downhill. A big outdoor map ruined by cutting down all the sightlines . Just like carrier. Huge map made small due to random stuff in the way.

The other maps are ok. Still haven't played them enough to really judge.

Who cares what is best? why not enjoy them all.

I think Mirage = Grind = Hydro = Downhill. They are all fun to me. I don't hate any of them. There is enough variety that we can each find something to enjoy....which is why so many people have differing views on which one is best.
