Irons or optics?

What's the consensus for SMGs and ARs?

I've noticed I tend to do better with irons on the whole, with the possible exception of the longer range engagements.

I never use an optic except for guns like the MK48 or Peacekeeper which have terrible sights. Everything else, irons.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the PK's irons either; but that makes sense because I don't like the FAL irons and they're identical.

Then again, I'm not a fan of the PK at all, but w/e.

I try to use the irons on most of the guns.

But usually I'll use a sight on LMGs and a couple of the ARs.

I recently discovered just how horrible the SMR's irons are. Target Finder it is then.

I use that or the MMS on my peacekeeper. It works well since it's not a super close up weapon.

I agree that optics are better on the SMR and FAL, but I'm talking primarily about the mid-range ARs.
