It's great on the Mk48. Haven't tried it much on the others.

That's the gun I've been trying, it seems to help me slow down my gameplay so I don't make dumb mistakes and it hits pretty hard/accurately. Haven't unlocked suppressor yet, though.

It's great on all of them, stock quick draw and silencer is my set up for all of them. If there is any damage drop off with it, it's meaningless with a LMG. Plus the silencer indirectly improves your accuracy a lot because it cuts out the flash making it much easier to spot and stay on your targets.

I don't see any reason NOT to use a suppressor. Any range drop off that exists is basically negligible. My favorite gun in the game is MK48 with Adjustable Stock, Reflex Sight and Suppressor. Snipers get on mah level! It basically kills in 3 shots from any range.

Oh yeah and the point about muzzle flash is a good one, too.

It's very beneficial. Movement is most limited with LMGs and it's hard to constantly displace yourself therefore keeping yourself hidden from the enemy's minimap is more important than ever.

You guys pretty much confirmed exactly what I was thinking. If the damage drop-off is negligible then I'll definitely put it on.

Question 2: What about ghost? LMGs slow you down so much that there's a pretty good chance that you won't be moving fast enough to hide from UAVs, do you think it's still worth keeping on?

I don't use Ghost, because of what you said, the movement speed. You won't be doing much sprinting and the walking speed is slow. My class setup is:

Perk 1 Greed
Primary Gunfighter
MK48
Adjustable Stock
Suppressor
Reflex Sight
Flak Jacket
Hardline
Toughness
Tactical Mask

UAV-Lightning Strike-Orbital VSAT

I rarely feel the need to use Ghost. If I think I need it, I have an Assault Rifle class setup with Ghost on it. This class is pretty reliable without it, just try to anticipate where the enemy is and keep your radar up so that you aren't caught off guard when the enemy has a UAV. If you like the Iron Sights on the gun, maybe you could even use a Black Hat, instead of Primary Gunfighter and Reflex Sight, to take out UAVs.

Do silencers have an effect on FMJ and bullet penetration?
