I recently had my stats reset for the PS3 version of Black Ops 2 (this is a faster board). There was no error message, no notification message, or anything. There would be no reason for any of those either, as I have never played locally, I have never cheated, I have never boosted, I have never glitched, I have never used a modded console, or anything. Nothing that could even be mistaken for that. My stats were bad (KDR slightly less than 1.3, W/L about 0.5), partly owing to my desire to grind out all the challenges and unlock everything. The gold executioners and things like that own my KDR, but are very satisfying to complete.
About an hour horsing around in sharpshooter this morning, I joined a game that lagged badly. I appeared to be host, and everyone was stuck long enough for the first weapon to switch in sharpshooter (I was alone on the map). I left the game, the host migrated, and I went back to the menu screen.
I go to enter the playlist, and the multiplayer menu screen lags badly. This is pretty standard for the PlayStation 3 version of the game, so I think nothing of it. It lags for several minutes before "unsticking." I notice that I have new challenges and emblems unlocked edit: This is weird because I had nothing showing before the match, and I did nothing during the match for obvious reasons end edit. Presently showing are my old emblem and calling card. I join a game and I discover that I am leveling up despite being master prestige and unlocking attachments for weapons in sharpshooter that I have actually hit maximum level with.
I am now a level 6 with the ruthless calling card and an emblem with a bunch of team deathmatch icons that I cannot possibly have unlocked since, according to the game stats, I have never played team deathmatch. None of the dozens and dozens of challenges that I strained to complete previously (pistolero, five sticks in a round, 100 kills while being damaged by guardian, etc) have been completed.
I'm kind of at a loss for words. Does anyone know if I have any recourse? Is there someone I can email?
Try @mattks during the week on Twitter. He responds pretty quickly and can usually take care of a problem pretty quick too. That's my go to guy. If it's something really mind-blowing he will eventually have you contact activation but most of the time he'll have your back.
