They still drop the package when that happens, so kinda pointless. But worth a good bit of xp.

To answer your question: The UAV only affects the last known position of the enemy - The counter UAV affects the map and a VSAT.

Since the counter effects two items it's in a sense more valuable.

I feel like people exaggerate the rate at which UAVs or Counter UAVs get shot down. I have over 8,000 UAVs used and I never regret having it equipped.

I can't be the only one on this board that feels this way either.

I use mine all the time too. The bots shoot down the UAV's in custom games as if their programming depended on it. I still wait to see if a bot will stop firing at me and whip out a FHJ.
But you're right for the most part, actual players tend to ignore it. They only last a little while (to little for my taste) so it's not worth the trouble for most players. I am slowly turning it into a priority to take them down!
