Its only needed if you play solo tbh.

Depends on the mode you're playing. TDM or FFA (or SnD), most of the community can't even get a 5 kill streak, so its not necessary. Hardpoint or KC award points much quicker, so its good for an SMG/Shotgun class that will be moving a lot.

Assuming you are hding in a corner with a remington, or glued to a headglitch spot with a target finder LMG, yes ghost is very useful.

yes, it punishes teams that are radar reliant and you'll get plenty of buzzkills. running it as your very first class is counter-productive though
