I got my S12 gold after about 900 kills, you shouldn't need hardcore. And after all the patches to the M1216, one shots for that gun aren't too uncommon either

Tell me about it I'm doing pretty much an all shotty prestige and that one was by far the longest. Make sure you goback to core for the BTs that was my mistake

I know your pain, sir. I am doing my pistols in reverse order so when I gilded the Executioner first it made the others a breeze. I'm on the final 5 challenges for the Tac-45 and then just the B23R for diamond now. Stick through the pain and troll with dual gold Executioners for maximum rage.
