the touchpad has me very worried about this game

Rayman Origins was a phenomenal game. But what's been shown for this one has me worried. It seems like the game is built around co-op with the Murphy character, and that playing by yourself would lock the player out of a large amount of game content. Even if I were playing with 4 people, none of us would want to play as Murphy; platforming is a lot more fun than clicking around on a touch screen.

Yeah, hopefully they'll have to versions of the game.

Single, and multplayer.

Single has it's own content and stuff to unlock.

Mutiplayer has it's own things to unlock.

Origins did it right, you could 100% the game by yourself, but it was easier with your friends.

Forcing mutliplayer is never a good thing

^ but every single thing on the planet is better with friends! must force social gaming!

Okay, making fun of how the videogame industry thinks today aside, i hope this doesn't cause a problem, too.

Although for the record, i found origins to be really annoying in multiplayer most of the time. especially in the last on ground level of the non secret worlds.

This is from gameinformers hands on at E3.

"The level I played was entirely reliant on both Rayman and myself to get through to the end. Ubisoft is saying that there will be specific levels designed around co-op, and separate levels for single players."

any word yet on this game featuring a full online multi campaign?

If the single player levels still offer the standard co-op from Origins, this is an instant buy. If not, my interest will drop a ton.

Then a single player would never be able to play the "multiplayer levels"?

The singler player would either never be able to 100% the game or they would have to create two types of game modes: "single-player" and "multi-player".

Both options seem awful.

That trailer doesn't give any indication as to whether the multiplayer extends beyond minigames or not. If anything, it implies that it doesn't.
