I just found a promo for another free month of xbox live, so I thought I'd start up my own tournament on here. So sign up if you're interested. Include your GameFAQs name and your gamertag.

I think this will just be a single elimination tournament instead of swiss style. As for other special rules, I'm considering allowing entry of multiple decks. What are your opinions on this sort of system? For example, each player can register 3 different decks to use. At the start of a match, each player selects one of their decks (not revealing their choice to their opponent). After game one of a best two out of three match, only the player that lost may switch to a different deck, but is not required to switch.

I won't commit to this without further information, but it sounds like fun.
When do you want to try this?
Also you could try going to wizards.com and looking up their MTG Pro Tour rules and regulations for ideas on how to run it.

Though I will say switching decks mid-round is a bad idea.
The loser may rage and switch to a superdeck for a cheap win.

Maybe between matches is a better way to go.

Yeah, perhaps that would be better. If there's no switching decks mid-match, sideboarding will be ok, going by "more official" rules of sideboarding (for every card you add in, you have to take one 1, so no just slapping in an extra 30 cards to make your deck bigger against mill). Of course, your sideboard will consist of all the cards not in currently in your deck, and your deck must be reset back to its original pre-sideboard list after every match.

As long as you and your opponents can still schedule times to meet for your matches, there shouldn't be a problem.

At this rate, we should have at least 8-16 people, so let's aim for starting on Monday. I'll post more official rules and such in this topic, so stay tuned.
