Fair enough. I honestly just thought you were trolling. ^_^; I've improved Mr Popo, but do you have any suggestions to make the commentary better? Always looking for ways to improve the videos and channel. --- http://www.youtube.com/user/ArrestedGaming GT - KingVVolf ^^Please check it out!^^
lol fair enough. honestly your voice was just bad to listen to. i don't know how much of that is you or your recording or what script or lack of script. also it would probably work better with a second person to play off of. unless a second person comes in at some point dont know didnt watch it all.
maybe change tones? i would say listen to it yourself and get some people to listen to it that you know will be brutally honest about it.
Thanks for the honest opinion. I like doing everything unscripted typically. Originally I was commentating w/ my fiance, but she rarely wants to join in. I'll try changing up the tone though and see if that helps. --- http://www.youtube.com/user/ArrestedGaming GT - KingVVolf ^^Please check it out!^^
the key to commentating is having someone you can play off of naturally. while a fiance might seem logical if she doesnt like video games or wrestling that is a problem. however depending on this relationship you may or may not be 100% yourself. people tend to never reveal their trueselves to their spouses they always keep something hidden so you might be self conscious in what you say.
however i would liken the neccessary dynamic to that of a best friend. a best friend trumps any spouse or fiance simply because you are usually most brutally honest with a best friend and will generally say whatever is on your mind. the conversation is then at its most unscripted and is a true commentary on the situation.
there is also the the question of are you going to call it play by play or not? in past times ive commentated wrestling games with close friends and it was hilarious....the subject was the match but it was not play by play but a natural extension of what we were talking about. maybe discuss the feud in exciting ways? add some drama to the feud? make hilarious remarks. does a character have a history?
to use an example one time we remarked a tombstone piledriver NEXT to the chair(in DOR the chairs usually would slide out of the way everytime) and it was hilarious. other times we remark why would the alien CAW be fighting trish stratus and ramble off on that. so the commentary can take various styles to it. or when the AI might glitch into a loop we might remark what is that crazy alien up too rather than get stuck on the fact that the AI just looped?
see commentary can take many forms. decide how you want to do it then stick to that format. im not saying you have to go into the land of crazy but clearly using character like mr. popo that is an easy door to open.
truth be told finding a commentary partner is not easy. of all the friends ive played wrestling games with ive only really had two people i could do it with. and of those two only one did it REALLY work because something about us sparked our creative sides capable enough to do that. the other worked simply because we understood wrestling and could flow it together enough.
