If we went back to Iga Universe, where can the series go?

Bloodlines is already set after Symphony of the Night. It could've been retconned but I guess Konami still wanted Bram Stoker's Dracula in the timeline (or is it the fandom's own assumption?).

Speaking of which, a game about THAT story could be made, utterly destroying the story but still it could. Or games about the alternate timelines like Circle of the Moon or Legacy of Darkness. And let's not forget the huge potential of remakes for not only the other NES games but even the GB ones (Adventure + subweapons = ???).

Then there's the forgotten Alucard game that's a sequel to SotN...

Both of those games were put back into the timeline.

O goodness. so much hate toward the reboot. I think people fail to realize that MS was establishing the darn setting. There is no Dracula at that point in time. They explain how dracula comes to be. If any1 of the complainers paid attention, they would know that Gabriel was manipulated and used, the mute girl allowed herself to be killed to help Gabriel along, and that Gabriel had a lot of problems. The narration before each stage points to that. He damns himself in his act of mercy toward Lora, and clearly lost his faith, which is symbolized when he crushes the combat cross.

For the poster that complained about the lost civilization setting, thats clearly more believable than some of the stuff in the original series. For example. sealing Dracula's Castle in a solar eclipse.
I like the original series. Lords of Shadow, in all of its GoW ish combat, felt like the classic series, with its platforming segments and enemies that can own you( but a big finger to the reapers). The Iga series( which i love, my favorites being circle of the moon, SCV4, and Blood lines) was convoluted story wise, and we all know it.

^In your defense, everything in LoS was fine. And you pretty much summed up the more important pros in LoS's defense.

And yes, the crushing of the Combat Cross (Which was in the form of a crucifix) was symbolic to his lost faith in Christianity and his new found rage against God. This is where Gabriel becomes very much like Mathias.

Now some may call me a hypocrite for disagreeing with the direction Capcom took with Biohazard/Resident Evil in recent years and Castlevania's "Lords of Shadow" but really, THERE IS a difference.

Original Dracula still has more swag... Even though the quote in my sig does make fun of his uselessness haha.

More swag? I know he turns into a demon and sometimes uses a third form but he always pulls off the same lame moves (fireball, teleport, lavaball).

So far I've seen Gabriel teleport, use awsome Shadow powers, bite humans like a typical vampire, hover/float, turn into a swarm of bats, and a giant bird like thing (it's not a dragon).

I do like the original Dracula, it's just this time we get to play as him in LOS: MOF & 2 and he looks a badass (if he makes Trevor turn into Alucard, then it's a first for Dracula).

*Sarcastic in some ways, not in other* It looks like a wyvern, the son of the dragon.

@WingZero0782

Somewhere in CoD it is said in some form or another, that Hector and Issac were involved during the events of CVIII Dracula's Curse.

Apparently.....Hector and Issac were too busy trying to kill each other when Trevor and Dracula were busy fighting in CVIII. Since Dracula told Issac to do something about Hector wanting to wuss out on being his general.

So basically they weren't exactly in the castle and Dracula was left without a last line of defense...*the COD prequel manga explains this it seems*

Ooooo that's right! The prequel Manga....

I have it in my room. I just never read it as I bought it years after I beat CVCoD. If memory serves correct, a copy of the complete manga came packed with the Japanese version of the game. And that explains why the actual game starts off so vague.

Remake Harmony of Dissonance so it would have proper music and graphics

I can agree with that though it was fine as a castleTROID game.

Juste Belmont is a great Belmont:

Very underrated. But that's because most felt CVHoDi was lacking compared to alot of the other castletroids and I can't say I disagree. But thankfully, it was a harder game than NitM/SotN.

Harmony of Dissonance was my very first castlevania game, and maybe that's why I love it to death. However, after playing other CV's, I can see why people might not like it.

On a side note, am I the only one who finds it ironic that even though Castlevania is known for being a metroidvania AND for Belmonts, Harmoney of Dissonance is the only Metroidvania featuring a Belmont (if you don't count any extras like New Game+ and whatnot)?

No. HoD is one of my favorites just because it's awesome to actually play as a Belmont.
