THIS IS NOT PERSONA. THIS IS SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME SERIES, THEY DO NOT HAVE THE SAME MECHANICS.

Yes they are and yes they do. They're different games, but that doesn't mean they have no similarities. The only real differences are the way you obtain demons and the way the story is told. Person is SMT with a dating sim overlay.

...They don't even have the same battle mechanics.

Neither do many of the Tales games. Clearly that's enough to say that a Tales game is not similar to a Tales game. Also, the combat between the Persona games and SMT is pretty similar.

Except you said they were the same. Not similar. Many RPGs have similar mechanics, but you don't classify them under the same series.

Yeah, I like to take things at exactly face value despite the fact that I know full well what people meant too. It's fun.

Great. Trusting people to say what they truly mean instead of leaving having others to find hidden subtext within words will make conversations that much more pleasant when people actually do as such.

Oh yeah. Quoting someone else that said "X is not the SAME" and negating their assertions, then going on to provide examples specifically using the word "similar." I can see how you would have trouble making the inference that I didn't actually mean that the games are 100% identical. My fault for assuming you were capable of basic reasoning. My apologies.

It's fine, no need to apologize.

No.

Though Isabeau is the closest you have to a Waifu if that's what you're concerned about, it's far more obvious in Neutral of course for... Reasons.

Burroughs sorta counts as a Waifu as well.

You refer to how it is basically Ali Hillis calling you master in a robotic monotone?

Persona is an SMT spin-off. It's no more a part of the main series than Final Fantasy Tactics is to the Final Fantasy main series.
