ZombiU
Anyone know if this title is final?

As excited as I am for the Wii U, I dislike this game's title because I would never want a game to be completely defined by the platform that it's on. A game's title (or anything's title, really) should be more meaningful than that - in particular, it should relate to the game's content more than anything else. While "ZombiU" pretty much makes clear what type of game we're dealing with, it doesn't at first glance do anything to differentiate this game from pretty much any other zombie game (except by saying what platform it's on, which I addressed in the first sentence). While Pikmin 3 is my only Wii U must-buy atm, I do plan to keep tabs on this game as well just in case it interests me enough. However, I really do hope that Ubisoft puts more thought into the game's title between now and the release date. --- Causing mischief to famous YouTubers and eventually taking over the world.
Sounds like you are complaining just to complain to be frank on the matter. You dont like the title of the game because it references the console? You want the title to have some larger meaning? ZombiU references a game they once put out years ago and tags a U at the end. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zombi_%28video_game%29 The original game was a tribute of sorts to Romero's movies, so how deep of a name do you want in this game? Who cares about the name if it is an amazing game?
You could also argue that the U at the end isn't just a reference to the console name, but the fact that it's made by Ubisoft, your last character turns into a zombie and you have to kill zombie U (you), and in the games title logo the U is a sideways E. --- "When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."

I actually hated the name too till I read this, never heard of Zombi and thought the entire name was related to WiiU (sorta like if you made a fighting game named FightU or something) but it's actually more like if it was an N64 game it would be Zombi 64 or something. --- Official Daigo Umehara of Hentai games.

However, to those arguing that I'm complaining just for the sake of doing so: you're understating the importance of names in works of art. --- Causing mischief to famous YouTubers and eventually taking over the world.
zeloswilder_fan posted... VenomSymbiote posted...your last character turns into a zombie and you have to kill zombie U (you) Oh, I fully understand names and how they work in the grand scheme of advertisement, and the use of Zombi with the U tagged on works on so many levels that you failed to give it credit for because you failed to actually take the time to read or understand. Now you tossing in that last line is truly your undoing. Many works of art are simply labeled and have no significance beyond the description: thinking man, woman in repose, etc etc etc. As for gaming, some people get really creative with the naming process, but sometimes a fitting label is a fitting label such as the simplicity of ZombiU or even Zombie Panic in Wonderland. Now to address the matter of questioning your intent and whether it was to complain for the sake of complaining or even a hidden troll thread because they like to lash out, you gave little reason behind it other than how you felt and your archaic idea of how games should be named then come back and bring up art which was flimsy at best. Who actually buys a game based on its name? Not any gamer I have ever met. Even my daughter sees a title of a game then instantly flips the game box over to look at what pics they have of the game, and she is not even out of elementary school yet. Being a kid, she does express interest in movie tie in games, but that is not because of the title but the movie it is related to. Thus we are here with an explanation of why the game has its name which you jumped the gun about and showed that you put little thought into your actual complaint about the game. Also, if you had taken the time to watch the videos and embraced what the game was about you would have seen how it is a step in the right direction for survivor horror games and zombie games, and that it clearly separates itself from what is currently for sale on the market including the upcoming RE6. If you could not see that then I suggest you go back and watch some of the longer game demos with the developers being interviewed at the same time, I am sure a few of those vids have been posted on this board already.
no not final. but is running on wii u hardware.
This is just weird. The name of a game having an impact on whether or not you'll buy it just seems incredibly silly. Nintendo could call the next Mario game "Guy in overalls jumps on stuff U" and I'd still purchase it.
