"There's no saving the world! No evacuation, no cure, no respite!"

Is it just me, or that sounds actually cool...? (even if I don't know what respite means... ... ... ...oh, it means that? Should've figured...)

I dunno, the prepper sounds so...realistic when he says that instead of "You need to go to the HQs of Parasol Corporations and kill the president or else we will all become zombies forevah!"

*Looks at any other zombie game*

I have to admit I chuckled at the parasol as well. And yes, this definitely instills more of the "all hope is lost mentality" similar to the way The Walking Dead conveys the zombie apocalypse, as in there really is no turning back

Hopeless end-of-the-world scenarios are pretty standard in zombie stories. I don't really think you should hold it against games like RE just for opting for a more comic-book-ish "evil corporation manufacturing monsters" approach.

Well it's kind of a staple of the genre in general. The term "zombie apocalypse exists for a reason, after all. Look at any given popular zombie movie/game/show/comic/whatever and it's pretty likely the story involves society collapsing and humanity being driven toward extinction.

The Romero movies, The Walking Dead comics/show/games, World War Z, etc..

The point is, very few GAMES (not movies/whatever) focus on the survival aspect. Most games focus on saving the world from the zombie apocalypse...
And, uh, a mod of another game is not a very good example

Probably a stab or parody at RE's Umbrella corporation.
