It's surprising how positive the forums are about it too (not because of the game quality but because it's the internet). I usually see so many more hate threads. --- Happy birthday Spray! I'm disappointed in you!
Not ignore, I'd say it's healthy to read on positive and negative reviews, and see if they have different views on one aspect of the game, and contrast that with your experience / expectations of the game.
For example, many say the melee combat is dull and repetitive, but it was the same case in the first Resident Evils and Silent Hills. It came with the territory of survival horror. I was not bothered by it, and I eventually learned to kill zombies more efficiently with the guns and ammo I had. If your expectations however, were to have a game similar to Left 4 Dead, you might be disappointed.
Most reviews mention the great atmosphere, even negative ones.
There are glitches, but almost 15 hours in, I haven't encountered any freezes or game-breaking ones. And most gamers don't mind the occasional glitch in games as long as they are having fun. I didn't mind the two instances I encountered.
I'd say the game is definitely ambitious, in its use of the Game Pad, being a launch title, a new franchise, etc; the game is not perfect but you might learn to love it in spite of its misses.
If you like true survival games this game just can't be passed up. I hope the boys over at capcom that recently dropped call of resident gears of evil 6 remember take some notes on what made this genre so great. --- Nintendo ID: Bul-Kathos Xbox live: tw1stedevo
