Cheating has been in games ever since the start, you can't try to justify that it's a 'COD kids shooter blah blah blah' thing, why is this always the justification for everything?. I'd say it's entirely down to the individual and always has been. Cheating in games has always added immediate fun but ultimately destroys any sense of achievement, the same goes for ZombiU.

Goldeneye on N64 cheating system was good, you actually had to earn these cheats by completing levels on a certain difficulty and within a certain time limit.

When you earned this cheat you could mess around with it in a level you already completed (without using any cheats) your best time for that level would not be recorded when you were using cheats and you couldn't 'complete' a level, on a difficulty level you hadn't completed before.

Sadly not many game have this cheat system, it brings a whole lot of replay value to a game, not just the cheats themselves but even the challenge to earn these cheats, remember having so much fun on this back in 1997 to try over and over again just to earn that one awesome new cheat and being so proud of myself when i actually earned it

They could have put in a cheat like infinite ammo which you had to unlock by completing survivor mode on let's say 8 hours (i'm just saying a random number here to give an example)

A cheat like all guns by completing survivor mode in less than 10 hours

'Zombies have big heads' by completing normal mode in less than 12 hours

etc.... (you get the point)

You shouldn't be able to cheat in a game by using a cheap glitch and using this to complete a game you haven't even completed the normal way yet, you need to earn cheats like this

I don't give a *** about people cheating in their games, as long as it doesn't affect mine (or any other gamer).
Thing is, some of those who used (and still use) the cheat will come brag about how good they are because they got their name on the leaderboards.
Mind you, I couldn't care less about the score, I played the game as it was intended to be, for fun, both normal, survivor and never had any problem with ammo myself (hell, my chest was half full by the end, the other half was in my 16 slots bag).

BUT

some people have that sense of achievement and probably did their best to get a decent rank, without having to rely on cheap tricks. Those are the ones who have legitimately rights to say it's cheap.
So yes, in this case, cheating does affect other gamers, just like in multiplayer when people use glitches and bugs to compensate their lack of skills.

Lesson learned?

The use of the CCTV Monitors to scavenge supplies in areas you've visited as well as meeting zombified Survivors through the online connection negates any need for the item duplication method.

Yeah item duplication isn't needed. I just topped the leader board yesterday with my own new finding. There's a sweet spot between certain missions, in a certain place where you can nab mad points. It's there you just have to find it.

It doesn't bother me knowing that glitchers will top my score, but it does hurt a little when I see their play times compared to mine.

My best advice to legit players is :

The monitors will say where the items are, all you need to know is where the bins, suitcases are located. I never use my light if it's not needed. Two pushes from behind will get a zombie to the ground for an easy stomp. Going back and forth from the safe house to various locations will net you more survivors filled with supplies. and for goodness sake BE NIMBLE!

get you some ammo and search for the spot.

personally i like to complete the game fully a few times at least once normally
and once slowly
then see if there is any wall glitches or interesting cheats
but i agree with you cheating online
should be a crime

~off-topic~

do you really think I give a **? I'll repeat myself since you probably missed that part: I'm not here to be buddy buddy with anyone, and again, certainly not on Gfaqs boards.
That cretin just filled a vacant seat on the ignore list and it keeps growing bigger.
You all mean nothing to me, at least not more than that.

Same to you, no offense intended (just sarcastic since if you don't want to offend someone, just don't say anything rather than that..a bit hypocritical isn't it?).

feel free to report for moderation

ps: if you think I'm an a-hole, you're perfectly right

I haven't actually used this glitch, but I really wish I had.

I died from an explosive zombie in Buckingham Palace, and died again trying to make my way back, so had to go around everywhere I'd visited to collect ammo and weapons. So I didn't get everything, but got what I was happy with. I was careful, putting each weapon in the storage in the safehouse each time.

SPOILERS:

So I proceed with the story, taking everything with me so I can go to the Tower of London for the final scene. And not long after, the safehouse gets over-run with zombies. I die once, then with my new survivor, go to kill my old one. She has all my weapons, however, because the place is overrun, I don't have time to get them. Being poorly equipped, I die again.

END SPOILERS

So now my weapons are spread around the entire map, once again. I don't know if I can be bothered to go around the entire map again.

It's stupid to have your weapons spread around the entire map - it doesn't even make sense, why would that even happen?

My weapons also got spread around the map when I had to reach through the glitched door in the nursery for my mission item, but couldn't get any weapons/ammo.

And too often, the weapons aren't even in the areas CCTV says they are (I've noticed it's usually Buckingham Palace Gates and Freedman's Flat that have this problem).

I do like the game in general, but there are too many small things that take away the enjoyment. This glitch saves a lot of trouble, and I wish I'd discovered it earlier.
