So far I am having a great time with it. I'm not far. Did the supermarket thing and defended my safehouse. This game is really tense. I haven't felt this way since the original RE.

So far I lost two survivors. I lost Matthew the IT guy and some girl who died before I learned her name. It looks kind of like dead island but plays very differently. In this game I actually feel fragile and like my life matters. Awesome. I kept thinking I just gotta make it back to the safehouse!

It's certainly a test. Though best method is to be sharp on your radar and trick them to a group, then make the climb over/climb under something. This can lead them to being on the ground and make for instant kills.

Also, on normal mode, two head shots will kill a zombie. Don't panic, take a breath and shove them first if you need to line up a good shot.

Defending the safe house is generally viewed as quite a difficulty spike and everyone loses a survivor there.

I was glad to finish the first mission and then the prepper mentioned that I was under attack and had to defend the safehouse. i kinda panicked since I was low on health so my first survivor died. My second survivor woke up and I was killed almost immediately when a zombie snuck up behind me. Finally I played it smart and killed them one at a time and forced them to come through doors or windows so I can dispatch them slowly without using any ammo.

Keep that mindset. Slow and steady. There are no real rush segments in this game. If you take your time and plan accordingly, you can survive essentially anything.
