The only stamp I'm missing is Double Damsel Rescue. Thing is, I just can't get through the 4th track before the game kills me for no reason, which I think is because I'm running out of time in a game where the clock counts upwards... T_T I know a few of the shortcuts in the first track but I can't pull any of them off consistently enough to make them worth doing. What didn't help was in my most recent run, my guy randomly exploded near the end of Area 8 of the second track and I had to go all the way back through THAT again. I honestly wasn't going any faster than usual, so not quite sure what happened there. Any "easy" shortcuts out there for me to try? Even if it's only worth a second or so compared to the normal route, it's still helpful in my case as long as I can pull it off. halp --- You know, in Japanese, the Wii 2 would be called the Wii Nii... -NikP1
Well, if you're not doing the right-side fall in area ten of the first board, do that. --- Maybe Doopliss isn't kicking ass, but he's taking names!
One of the easiest and most reward shortcuts, is in course 2/4 area 5. Instead of going through the box mechanism, go on top of it. Then, move to the left side where the sideways barrels are visible, and tilt sharply to the left. This is a surprisingly safe maneuver to perform, saves considerable time, and even rewards a 1up when done on course 4. Another major shortcut is in area 10 of courses 1 and 3. Instead of taking the normal path down where the coins can appear, just tilt to the right and fall off, then tilt back to the left. And you should hit the flagpole safely 90% of the time, once you get the hang of this. There is also area 7 of both courses 1 and 3. For course 1, instead of riding the trolleys, just go to the far left of the screen, press L and move onto that elevator at the right time. You'll skip the hassle of the other parts that can eat up time, and lives. For the course 3 variant, they've removed that flooring altogether. Just tilt to the left sharp enough and you should fly into the area 8 flag, saving a lot of time. Of course, be prepared to hit the Y button when you hit that flagpole or you may stand to lose a life in the process. In general though it is not shortcuts that will save time, but confidence in your own playing ability. --- DK's Crash Course - First Stage in 38.9 seconds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRW9wR2VzDQ
mtpfreak has a video of a 232 second run through every course: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8UU3if9mCA You may want to use some of the shortcuts that are used in the video. Some of them are much easier than doing the area in the correct way. The Area 10 shortcut in courses 2 and 4 is a great example of this.
U will get used to the ropes as u go along but u must be patient. --- the saying YOLO (You only live once) is just an excuse of doing something idiotic.
A lot of the trouble some people have though, is that they approach certain things too cautiously. But then, they might approach things with too much force. It's a pain like that. Area 10 of all the courses in general, have time-saving shortcuts that may be safer, and save more time than the actual correct path, but also mean you will skip over the coins on the way if you grabbed all the bananas. If you're going for a good time or stamps though, forget the bananas and coins, except for the perfect run. --- DK's Crash Course - First Stage in 38.9 seconds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRW9wR2VzDQ
Thanks to your guys' help and a bit of practice, I can now consistently make it into Level 4 with over 300 seconds to spare, more than enough time to finish this thing. The new problem? Area 9. Doing the exact same thing I do for Area 9 in Level 2 just makes me explode. What do I need to do differently? --- You know, in Japanese, the Wii 2 would be called the Wii Nii... -NikP1
Another question: I need to get more consistency on Area 7 of Course 4. I've only gotten past it twice and have no idea how I did it... --- You know, in Japanese, the Wii 2 would be called the Wii Nii... -NikP1
Never mind. Just figured it out. And with that I never have to play this minigame again. (even though I'll still pick it up every once in a while just to troll my roommates with how much better I am at it than them) --- You know, in Japanese, the Wii 2 would be called the Wii Nii... -NikP1
