When games release at the $40 price point, they are generally either crappy budget titles, rereleases, or something similar. I know this is not a rerelease.

Is this a crappy budget title or is it just a good deal?

good deal

The first game was at a discount price as well. Games should not be 60$ as it is.

Sega's on hard times, so I assume the low price tag is to draw in more sales.

Lower price means more sales right from the beginning. Very smart move.

I found the original game better than Mario Kart Wii. This will probably also be a quality title. The price is meant to entice people and encourage impulse purchases.

The first sonic all stars racing was a very well developed title filled with ton of characters to race with, lots of content and online as well.

This. Especially with the holidays coming up fast. The only exception is the Badass collector's editions.

generally that perception is true however this game appears to be and has been recieved as (from what ive read) as a very high quality and fun racing game. I know that it will be one of if not my only launch title I pick up initially. Im gonna wait on some reviews for other titles first i think.

also NFL 2K5 released at a $19.99 price point and is considered (and IMO is) one of the best Football games of all time.

Katamari Damacy launched for $20 as well, and that's one of my favorite PS2 games.
