Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
Poll: How satisfied were you with the character roster?
Which best describes your satisfaction with the character selection? - Results (105 votes)
Very satisfied- An excellent mix of characters; I was surprised and happy with the selection we got.
Satisfied- All in all, a roster that's large and well-chosen.
Somewhat satisfied- A few very good choices, some rather poor ones. Could be worse.
Somewhat dissatisfied- The roster had some much potential, a wasted opportunity on Sega's part.
Very dissatisfied- Sega has gone in the wrong direction with the wrong mindset in choosing the characters included.

For myself, my opinions fall somewhere in between 2-3. It's a large selection of characters, many of them good (compared, say, with Mario Kart). But Sega cut some of my favorites from the earlier game--especially Billy--and a few of the inclusions are rather bad (especially Danica Patrick, Pudding and Gum; and did we really need these same Sonic characters playable yet again?). But I still find many characters I like, so I won't complain too much.
I've never played any Sega "all star" game so I thought the mix was good. Though I don't know who some people are (Danica, Pudding, Gum). For all stars I would have assumed I had heard of them without playing their respective games but overall I enjoyed the roster. And Vyse. There should have been more Skies of Arcadia.

Too many Sonic characters for me, wasted space, too many recycled characters from Fantasy Tennis, in my opinion they didn't do much with Transformed Roster, look at the first game, they actually had some unique cats on that game, this one? Eh Joe Musashi, ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that's about all that thrilled me from Sega.
Somewhat satisfied. I will admit that I'm more of a Sonic fan then a SEGA fan, so I enjoy this game more for its gameplay rather than its roster. Having said that, I like that they added some brand new characters like Joe Musashi and Vyse. I'm also glad they brought back a few from SEGA Superstars Tennis like Gillius and NiGHTS.
It's a real shame so many characters from Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing got cut, especially Ryo and Jacky & Akira, both whom I enjoyed using. I'd prefer if no one got cut, but that sort of thing is almost always inevitable in crossover series. I can understand the dislike people have towards the secondary characters MeeMee, Gum, Pudding and Reala, but I don't particularly mind their inclusion. Pudding and Reala at least have different vehicles.

Not satisfied at all. Too many clone characters. Welkin from Valkyria Chronicles and Bayonetta should have been in!

I don't know why they took out Billy Hatcher and Big the Cat.
Danica wasn't needed.

Big the Cat got the axe, so that's a plus
But I'm still pretty dissatisfied with the roster. Danica and Ralph shouldn't have been in period, while Gum, Reala, MeeMee, and Pudding are redundant, and there are just too many damn Sonic characters >_<
I get that this is Sonic Allstars Racing Transformed (such a dumb name), but I still think it should just be Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. No Robotnik, no Amy, no Shadow, and no Metal Sonic.
So many classic and new franchises they passed up so they can have these extra filler characters -_-

Danica and Ralph are fine to me because they are not clones. Clones meaning, Pudding, Gum etc. You don't need two characters from the same game.
BTW, I do not consider Tails, Knuckles and Robotnik clones. Even though they all came from Sonic games.

I don't mind the "clone" characters categorically--some franchises I think (Monkey Ball, for instance) are big enough to warrant another character (though why not Baby?). I would of loved another Skies of Arcadia character, as I really like Vyse.
And I see why Sega included so many Sonic characters--it's by far their biggest and most sellable franchise--but does it have to be the same group every time? Sonic, Tails, Knuckles I wouldn't touch, but do we really need Shadow and Amy popping up every time? What about Cream, Blaze, Chaos, Jet, or Espio (he counts, right?) to appear in one of these sports/party games--to give the whole range of Sonic games representation from time to time (I imagine it would be good advertising as well)?
As already stated, they cut some cool characters...
I still feel as if the Sonic franchise overshadowed everyone else. What about Phantasy Star universe? Any of those characters would've sufficed, and if they were adding third party characters, It'd be pretty insane to have Captain Falcon in the game, Sega did make F-Zero GX so why not?
Sakura Shinguji From Sakura Wars
Kunoichi From Nightshade
Just 3 characters off the top of my head, others have also suggested great entries.
