PS was basically an MMO anyway back when dreamcast started the online trend. If companies don't care about a series they'll make a flash card game of it and nothing else will come after it.
Um, did you need quote my entire post to only reply to the Phantasy Star question?
And I still dislike the choice they made to do that. They could have tried to make more console-style RPGs out of PS, but instead they went the MMO route. I'm just not a huge fan of that particular genre.
