Double Dash was always my favorite, the handling was brilliant.

If they sort out of the online problems marring this for me, then this game honestly has the potential to take the crown from Mario Kart Double Dash! I can not believe how awesome this game is and how amazing all the courses are! x

I also loved Destruction Derby two :p! x

It's a toss up for me between Diddy Kong Racing, Crash Team Racing and F-Zero GX. For realistic racing games, I enjoyed playing Project Gotham Racing 2 and Gran Turisimo 2.

F-Zero GX is truly an amazing racing game. I was finally to obtain a permanent copy a few months back from a local video game store.
I also remember enjoying Mario Kart Double Dash. It's probably my favorite Mario Kart.
Sonic & All-Stars racing is pretty up there among my favorite racing games now too. Honestly, it's probably mostly because I finally have someone else to play with too and that always makes things more fun.
I have to throw in Need for Speed: Carbon and Burnout as well.
Though, those two I only really liked because a) I could create my own shiny, decked-out car and b) creating huge crashes was fun.

Is F-Zero GX really that good? I've never liked the SNES F-Zero game. Will I like GX? I want to get it now because of this thread...

Ah! Anyways, to answer the question

Diddy Kong Racing. - Man, that game was amazing. Even replayed it a few years back, still just as fun.

I remember Lego Racers for N64 was pretty sweet, too.

My cousin traded me it way back in the day because it was too quick moving for him. The game is fast paced and it truly makes you learn the track before you can start winning. But once you get used to it the game is awesome. There are something like 44 racers in total, plus a garage for you to make your own machines, and when you race there's thirty people at a time. The fact that instead of picking up items to shoot at your opponents is transformed into the fact that you can OHKO any racer at any time is exhilarating. You hit a wall? You can hear the roar of twenty races following up behind you. Even better is when you're in a Grand Prix the first place person (or second place if youre in first) will be labeled Rival during the race so you can seek out and destroy that person. When you do the next racer is labeled. Overall the game is just awesome.

F-Zero GX and Diddy Kong Racing are probably the top two for me. Glad to see both getting a lot of love in this thread.
