changing controllers in single player?

How exactly do you use different controllers? I play in single player, and have tried to use the remote/nunchuk, wii classic controller pro (the one that looks like a PS controller, this game supports it right?) in single player, it seems the gamepad is set for controller one, but I'm not sure how to change it.

Whichever controller you press Start on at the title screen seems to get set to Player 1's default controller. So just start the game up with whatever controller you want to use.

Yep, I always start the game with my Wiimote, and make sure the nunchuck is plugged in. I was stressing for a bit when I was stuck with motion control turning...never again.
