arcticfox14Posted 2/9/2013 11:46:49 PM (edited) | Any tips for a kart game vet just starting this game?
For instance: the start boost mechanics, whether a lvl 3 boost is better than 3 lvl 1s, any other trick/technique boosts, overall preferred competitive characters, etc. Go wild. Thanks! --- SteamID: http://steamcommunity.com/id/arcticfox14 Wii U/PSN: arcticfox14 |

( 1 ) Know when to slow down on turns to avoid going on the outside or hitting walls thus slowing you down.
( 2 ) On straight paths take the time to get used to using your mirror view because on straight lines you're very easy to hit with items. If you can't use mirror view drive erratically to make yourself unpredictable. NEVER drive in a straight line.
( 3 ) Don't spam your items, if you get an ice ball, don't throw it away in the hopes of getting a boost item ( if you're falling behind ) Save it for shielding yourself against a potential attack, if you're going to swap items do it immediately before you're about to take another item.
( 4 ) Remember swarm patterns, this makes coming in first very easy as the swarm is static ( always appear in the same spot ) this is key because players do not time their swarms and use them on parts where dodging them is next to impossible.
( 5 ) Learn to ball roll on jumps, you'll go much faster if you drift before a ramp and do a barrel roll rather than doing a simple flip, sometimes you can do 2 barrel rolls where you can only do 1 flip because of the added distance barrel rolling gives you.
( 6 ) They're maps with many pathways like in Addir's Lair, find the quicker routes and avoid the slow ones like a plague.
Remember these steps and you'll become good in no time. |
CurryfiendPosted 2/10/2013 7:39:10 AM | it's better to have 1 big boost than multiple little boosts because after a big boost your car coasts at the boost speed making you a lot faster
if you aren't doing time trials then just pick your favourite character, if you are time trialling then use a character with high speed + boost. all the best time trial players use cars with 1 handling on the courses --- Don't hate me because I'm beautiful ~ f00had http://i50.tinypic.com/14ie929.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xE5c8ugVYVc |

When I faced against top tier Time Trackers on MatchMaking they were very difficult to beat especially on Airplane maps so I had to practice while observing their ghost, I learned allot. |
