It's a damn shame that SA2 and to a lesser extent, Sonic Heroes were the last console games to show how fast and frentic a Sonic title should be. Given that the Genesis games were 60fps as well.

It just doesn't feel right at 30fps. I noticed it right away when playing classic Sonic in Generations.

And I know Sonic 06 tried to be a 60fps... But it was ripe with slowdown.

Yeah, I could tell something was immediatley off when I played the demo of generations. I thought it would be bearable but I hated it the whole way through the game. Didn't help that I hated the game as well.

I did say console.

Besides... Even though Sonic Generations can run in 60fps on PC... It's not as fast as Sonic Adventure 2 for some reason. It seems slower.

Sonic 06 only had slowdown on the PS3 versions. The 360 version was solid.

I agree, TC, this looks amazing!

Even better then on DC back in the day, and definitely better then on GCN i am seeing stencil shadows under sonic and company as opposed to GCN's ugly pixelated decals, I still kinda miss the original DC version's faux self-shadowing effect, but I'll live!

Man the first level looks amazing as ever, only played the demo so far but DAMN, that section with the bright lovely green rolling hills with the 2 little launch ramps looks super extra stunning!

Sonic looks so amazing in this, his walk-to-run transition is perfect! Unlike that weird slidey thing they got going on in the Sonic 4 games.

Def best looking Sonic game but I really liked the look of Sonic06 in the demo (it mostly did hold 60fps thank god) but heard lots of bad about the full game, so never tried that!

Keep in mind that SA2 isn't pushing nearly the number of polygons per second that the newer games are.
