Title of the topic says it all. I've achieved max rank and I want to erase it all so I can work my way back up again. I erased my game save file, started a new save file, and when I went online... My rank was still intact. My wins and losses same as they were. The only difference being a empty character usage rate.
So can we no longer reset our record/rank? I did this on Storm2 and Generations before. I'm thinking that my PSN is keeping record of the info? Kind of lame. I want to make the journey to Hero again and see if I can do it with an even better record...

This. You'd have to create a new Profile, if you want to start from scratch. --- Madara's reaction to your post: http://i2.minus.com/joRdsArFIp5Iu.jpg GT: MadaraTheViper1

I guess they did this to prevent modding of save files and reduce ragequits. If the w/l record is stored in your save file, then you could easily mod it, screwing up the leaderboards. A lot of people probably complained about this on gens, so they changed it. This way even if you dc, you still have a loss on your record.
I think its a fair compromise. If you are a hero w a ridiculous high w/l ratio, it wouldn't be fair to allow you to reset your game and make it seem as if you are new to the game. A lot of heroes would probably reset their records and beat on noobs.
If there is one thing gens does well, is allowing you to pick who you want to play in ranked. Beginners and amateurs can avoid playing high ranked people if they prefer and even have a chance to avoid playing against chars they dislike.
At least on ps3 you can't really complain given that online play is free and you can just create a new profile if you are so inclined.
