IYO, at what level do you know a class just isn't for you?

I'm trying not to judge my class to quickly, but I'm not having a whole lot of fun with it so far.

At level 30 the class has shown you pretty much everything you can expect from it. 15 is good enough to get a feel for the class.

i would say you should know at least whether you actively dislike a class by 15. by. 30 you should know whether you actually really enjoy playing it

Really not until max in my opinion. That's what you have all skills and options open to you, which may resolve some issues you have with the class.

Like BLM for example. I can't stand playing a synced down BLM below 40 because I hate using transpose and building my orbs back up. Using Fire III and Blizzard III is just smooth, quick, and most importantly, just feels good.

50 is the right answer. I thought I was going to love Summoner, pets are awesome after all. But at 50, I just couldn't bring myself to gear the class out. I was enjoying Bard and Dragoon more. So I switched my attribute points to Mind and took up Scholar instead. Still wasn't my cup of tea, and continued healing with White Mage anyways.

Only classes I don't have at 50 are Warrior (35), Black Mage (35), and Monk (42).

Paladin is my favorite class. Bard is my first main Alt after that, then White Mage, then Dragoon. Scholar and Summoner are just jobs I f*** around with sometimes.

I leveled every fighting/mage class to 15 so I can get any job I want.

I feel like I had enough time to get a good taste of them.

Depends on the class rally.
Stuff like SMN you get most of your tools fairly early on.
Keep dots up, manage pet->profit.

Stuff like DRG changes as you level and gets more skills, so it might need more time to shine.

But by 30 at least you should have a decent feel for the class.

Would say depends on class
Smn, black mage, bard, paladin all those by 30 you have seen most of what the class is going to be about

dragoon, warrior, and monk take till 50 before you really get all the skills

For DRG, I knew very early on that I didn't enjoy the class. For SMN, it wasn't until level 50 that I figured out that the class was more frustrating than fun.

I started as a lancer and decided to switch at level 23. Melee DPS isn't my thing.
