Hello. I'm currently playing BuggyStar and while it is fun, I think I want to wait for them to iron out the bugs and figure out how to properly tune their content so that it isn't so reliant on RNG (seriously, most frustrating endgame I've ever encountered). In the mean time, I'm considering returning to Eorzea and trying to reintegrate into FFXIV. Here's my deal, and hopefully you guys can give me the push one way or the other on whether or not to resub.
I'm a PC player. I played since early access, took a PLD and DRG to 50 on Leviathan server. I main tanked BC Turns 1-4, my friends and I all went back to WoW around October because farming Turns 1-4 got boring and Turn 5 was a buggy mess at the time (by the time we quit, no one in the world had killed it yet).
Is Leviathan still active? Is it true there's no real progression content for 24 man raids, and that the 8 mans are where the progression content is at? How's the difficulty of the new BC turns? Does it feel fair, or is it a buggy mess like Turn 5 used to be before the patch that changed Twister? I've heard something about a grind to upgrade Relic weapons, is it as bad as people say (I googled around and found mountains of complaints about it)? How fast would I be able to jump back into endgame if most of my gear is ilvl 90?
Thanks in advance for the answers. --- Coolest guy/gal on the planet: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/user.php?=2426382
The hell is a buggy star? Yes, levi is still active, the new BC turns are about as difficult as the last ones. The relic grind is very... grindy. If you are currently i90 you can jump into endgame asap, especially since the new crystal tower in 2.3 will drop i100.
If you didn't leave the game because end game felt like a grind you're good to play again.
Sorry I couldn't answer the questions just the grind is why people end up leaving and all.
I definitely don't mind a reasonable grind and I hunger for difficult progression content. I guess what disappointed me most about FFXIV ARR at launch was that, while most of my buddies and I were willing to wait for Turn 5 fixes (which literally came about 2 weeks after we quit), the Crystal Tower they were planning on releasing was confirmed to be an "in between" tier to help people gear up for BC. We were already almost done with BC, and it felt like it was going to be a while before we got content that would challenge us again. We especially didn't like that Crystal Tower was intended to be an 8 man queue that put you with 2 other random 8 mans cross-server. We wanted real 24 man progression stuff. Now that they've all quit though, I think I'd be fine with finding an 8 man team and progressing the new turns. --- Coolest guy/gal on the planet: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/user.php?=2426382
