Need, Greed, Pass options for dungeon loot?

What does the 'Greed" option do when coming across loot in the dungeons? I know that 'Need' will have each player roll for it, and Pass is self explanatory, but what does 'Greed' do?

If its like other games, Need is if you need the item, Greed is if you are likely to sell it or aren't sure if you will use it, pass is to not roll at all.

Priority for rolling

Need > Greed. If at least 1 person "needs" an item, only those who "need" it as well will roll, and those who "greed" are omitted.

Hope this makes sense.

Can everyone need on loot? That was in dcuo on ps3 turned into people constantly needing loot regardless until it was job locked

With how everyone can be anything, I would assume so. I don't know the answer for sure though.

Ya would only make sense, that everyone can roll need. Hopefully the players are better about it in that case.

another reason why F2P can be a drain people are just not as emotionally/fiscally invested in it.........or was this when it was subscription based?

Varying degrees always but rampant after f2p unless it was a good group in my experience. Duty finder system exasperated it by grouping up randoms though which xiv also has right?

Only players that can currently equip it to their class can "Need" it. Like when I'm playing as a CNJ and I see an armor loot that requires disciple of war I can't "Need" on it although I also have a Disciple of war class that meet the lvl requirements because I'm not currently a DoW.
