Bard macro discussion topic!

#1ZenzokukenXPosted 10/25/2013 8:56:48 AM
This is for anyone who has a Bard and uses macros. I want to know if my macros are optimized or if I can add/remove any skills or make any other macros. I'm on PS3. I know the macros I have now WORK but IDK if they are ideal on maximizing my DPS.

Ok so I have 3 Macros right now....

/macroicon "Heavy Shot"
/ac "Misery's End" <t>
/ac "Bloodleter" <t>
/ac "Heavy Shot" <t>
/ac "Quick Nock" <t>

&

/macroicon " Hawk's Eye"
/ac "Hawk's Eye" <me>
/wait 1
/ac "Raging Strikes" <me>
/wait 1
/ac "Barrage" <me>
/wait 1
/ac "Internal Release" <me>
/wait 1
/ac "Featherfoot" <me>
/wait 1
/ac "Quelling Strikes" <me>

&

/macroicon "Rain of Death"
/ac "Rain of Death" <t>
/wait 2.5
/ac "Venomous Bite" <t>
/wait 2.5
/ac "Windbite" <t>

Skills I do not have macro'd:

Repelling Shot
Scond Wind
Blunt Arrow
Flaming Arrow

Should I make any other macro, alter any I have, add any non-macro skills to a macro, or any other advice will help!

THANK YOU!

Not sure why you marco those abilities together...

Here's mine

/ac Heavy Shot <t>
/wait 2.5
/ac Straight Shot <t>

/ac Venomoust bite <t>
/wait 2.5
/ac Windbite <t>

/ac Raging Strike <me>
/ac Hawk's eye <me>
/ac Internal Release <me>
/ac Blood for Blood <me>

/ac Battle Song <me>
/ac Mage's Ballad <me>

Barrage, Quelling Strike, Flaming Arrow, Blunt Arrow, Rain of Death, Second Wind are all in without Macro.

I usually buff those 4(press them incredibly fast) then use Barrage. Nothing survives that. Doing 300 - 400+ damage each hit(with barrage thats 4 hits each attack) if critical. Top it off with Flaming Arrow and the dots...oh goodness...

Well if I have all those macros I'm gonna have to use more than 1 skill bar and switching between bars on ps3 sucks....

i use three macros, my main one for single targeting is
/ac "Misery's End" <t>
/ac "Bloodletter" <t>
/ac "Heavy Shot" <t>
/ac "Internal Release" <me>
/ac "Hawk's Eye" <me>
/ac "Raging Strikes" <me>
/ac "Barrage" <me>
-If Straight Shot and both Bites are up, i use this continually and reapply straight shot when it's proc'd/falls off and reapply DoT's as they fall off.

i have the same macro sans buffs for my second one, if i'm saving the buffs for an upcoming boss or specific part of a fight, i pull
/ac "Misery's End" <t>
/ac "Bloodletter" <t>
/ac "Heavy Shot" <t>

my last macro is for utility buffs and popping all buffs while doing AoE's
/ac "Internal Release" <me>
/ac "Hawk's Eye" <me>
/ac "Quelling Strikes" <me>
/ac "Blood For Blood" <me>
/ac "Invigorate" <me>
/ac "Raging Strikes" <me>
/ac "Barrage" <me>
I flip invigorate and blood for blood for titan, everything else i use this order.

not macro'd - Straight Shot, Blunt Arrow, Venomous Bite, Windbite, Feint, Flaming Arrow, Wide Volley, Rain Of Death, Quick Nock, Second Wind, Battle Voice, Mage's Ballad, Army's Peon.

i have a second bar with repelling shot/shadowbind/swiftsong/foe requeim/limit break but rarely have to use it.

like I said in another post, I did some dummy testing and this was the best 3 minute rotation I could find (with bosses in mind):

I hate macros. I can almost accept the common ME/BL/HS one but I hate mashing one button like that without really knowing what will come out, especially when the result can delay your GCD. If you must at least macroicon BL so you have some idea what may be coming.

For all those using /wait don't. For starters it adds a delay after animation so it turns into 3+ seconds instead of 2.5. Plus you should be popping something every oGCD so those macros will cost you the ability to launch a BL, ME, flame arrow, or even a well timed blunt.
